Having originally released a decade ago, The Witch’s House MV brings the Japanese horror right up to speed, launching on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch.
Rolling out to launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch just in time for the scares of Halloween, The Witch’s House MV from DANGEN Entertainment takes what was first revealed on PC back in 2012 and runs with it, remastering, enhancing and introducing new features as it goes.
Priced at £12.49 from the Xbox Store, The Witch’s House was originally created to ensure that you’d stumble upon a trap at pretty much every turn. It found success though and even with the highly unusual and unpredictable nature, it established itself as one of those go-t0 Japanese horror affairs.
So what do we have with the MV tagged version? Well, The Witch’s House MV remakes what was good about the original, with completely remastered visuals, enhanced atmosphere, and a new difficulty mode that includes new events upon completion of the base game. It still focuses on the same young girl, Viola, as she is drawn towards a mysterious looking mansion house, and it still promises to bring a host of pain, turmoil and death alongside numerous riddles and hellish halls – but it’s that kinda stuff that we love about gaming, no!?

We remade all the graphics, including map tiles and character sprites, and worked hard to enhance the atmosphere and 2D beauty in The Witch’s House.
