Isaac Clarke is returning to the USD Ishimura in 2023 to defeat the Necromorphs in EA Motive’s Dead Space Remake. Unlike other remasters we’ve seen before, this survival-horror classic plans on being a complete rebuilding of the original game.

New graphics, updated mechanics, and gameplay features will be added to the Dead Space Remake for next-generation consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. But will this upcoming game manage to dethrone The Callisto Protocol? We’re curious, as both these titles provide an identical experience and are slated to release around the same time. It’ll be an exciting battle that benefits fans of the survival-horror genre.

As excitement continues to grow for the Dead Space Remake, let’s analyze everything that’s been announced for this upcoming game.

Is The Dead Space Remake Coming Out In 2022?

Unfortunately, EA Motive won’t be launching the Dead Space Remake in 2022. This developer has clarified that they’re developing an “Atmospheric Experience” for this faithful reconstruction of Dead Space.

Additional time will be needed for development purposes. Fortunately, it’s been suggested through industry reports that the Dead Space Remake will arrive in 2023. This means we won’t wait too long for Isaac Clarke’s return.

The USG Ishimura has requested the CEC Corporations’ assistance after sending a distress signal. The USD Killion is dispatched to save crewmembers on the Ishimura. They then learn about grotesque humanoids named Necromorphs. These creatures have an unknown extraterrestrial infection that can destroy humanity, as this virus continues to spread until every host has been contaminated.

Everyone should expect this storyline to remain in place for the Dead Space Remake, as EA Motive looks to design a faithful recreation of the original. However, improvements are being made to ensure that Dead Space doesn’t feel outdated. EA Motive has claimed that audio and lighting improvements are being made to upscale the fidelity of Dead Space. They’ve mentioned that these upgrades to Dead Space will feel similar to God of War 2018.

Gameplay mechanics used throughout the original version of Dead Space are also being redeveloped, meaning that we can expect improvements with dismembering the Necromorphs. It’s been revealed that mindful precision is needed to ensure that these grotesque humanoids are adequately killed. Otherwise, they’ll be born again and re-attack you with a vengeance.

EA Motive has promised that the Dead Space Remake will provide an uninterrupted experience filled with sequence shots. We’ll receive gameplay similar to God of War 2018 or Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order through these mechanics. But can the story of Isaac Clarke compete with Kratos or Cal Kestis? We’re not sure.

The saving grace is knowing that updates are being made towards the storyline and dialogue, with Gunner Wrist reprising his role as Isaac Clarke. That means we could be witnessing a faithful recreation and reformatting of Dead Space, which wouldn’t disappoint PS3 or Xbox 360 Fan.

There haven’t been any confirmations from EA Motive that the Dead Space Remake will support co-op gameplay. However, this franchise has previously incorporated co-op into the gameplay features. It would make sense that EA Motive is developing some version of multiplayer.

Since the original game launched fourteen years ago, we’ve thought that the Dead Space franchise was perfect for standard multiplayer modes like Team Deathmatch. Imagine competing against other players while Necromorphs hide within the shadows, ready to pounce at any moment. It would make an incredible experience that could rival Alien: Fireteam Elite or Back 4 Blood.

No announcements have been made regarding online multiplayer in the Dead Space Remake. Therefore, this is purely speculation and shouldn’t be considered truth.

Is The Dead Space Remake Getting Released On The Xbox And PC?

EA Motive confirmed that they’re developing the Dead Space Remake for next-generation consoles, meaning the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 will be supported. There will be additional support for the PC. However, it hasn’t been confirmed if this upcoming game is exclusive to EA Play or Steam. We’re expecting that the Dead Space Remake will launch on both platforms. But there should be special deals for gamers that purchase this survival-horror game through EA Play.
