Dead Space Remake Specs Revealed For Console And PC

The remake of the 2008 horror classic Dead Space from EA’s Motive Studio releases later this month on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The developers have officially revealed the game’s graphic options for consoles, as well as PC specs. Console players will be able to choose from two different graphical modes,  both of which are the same regardless of platform. No matter which option you choose, the game is sure to be as terrifying as it was back on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Let’s take a look at what Dead Space‘s remake has to offer.

As is industry standard at this point, the two modes available for console players will be quality or performance. The quality mode will run at 30fps, with 4K resolution and ray-tracing. For players seeking a smoother experience, the performance mode will run at 60fps, dropping the resolution to 2K, and removing ray-tracing. It’s a tough choice to make. Seeing the game remade after 15 years would be visually impressive in 4K with ray-traced lighting, but the horror experience could be even more immersive at 60fps.

Console players can terrify themselves with either a 4K resolution or at 60fps.

For PC players, there are minimum specs and recommended specs. Both require Windows 10 64-bit+, 16GB RAM, DirectX 12 and 50GB of storage space. The minimum specs specifically require a Ryzen 5 2600x or Core i5 8600 processor, and an AMD RX 5700 or GTX 1070 graphics card. Dead Space‘s recommended specs however bump the processor up to a Ryzen 5 5600x or Core i5 11600K, with a graphics card starting from the Radeaon RX 6700 XT or Geforce RTX 2070.
