Starfield’s Character Will Not Have A Voice

As part of the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, Bethesda revealed Starfield’s character creation tools.
We know Starfield players will be able to create their characters from scratch, just like Bethesda’s other open-world RPGs.

Bethesda did not reveal whether the main character of Starfield will be voiced or not, since the majority of the developer’s games do not feature voiced protagonists, except for Fallout 4.

However, days later Bethesda revealed that Starfield will not have a voiced protagonist, and all conversations will take place in first-person.

While some Bethesda fans prefer it when you remain silent during a Bethesda RPG, others prefer to hear their characters speak in-game.

The debate over the voiced characters is far from the only topic on Bethesda fans’ minds following the Starfield reveal.

In addition, by removing the voice acting from your Starfield character, you’ll be able to eliminate the restrictions that come with having voice acting.

For modders, it’ll also make it easier for their mods that create their dialogue, having a silent protagonist in a world where he or she would be voiced is unusual.

The reveal also concluded with Bethesda’s Todd Howard confirming that Starfield will have thousands of planets for players to explore, which some are concerned will mean that the majority of the planets will be underwhelming.

While others are excited about Starfield’s ambitious scope, it remains to be seen if the game will live up to the high expectations Bethesda’s previous titles set.

In the meantime, players can expect it to be released sometime in 2023 on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X.
