Today Square Enix released the preliminary patch notes giving an extensive look at the content coming with Final Fantasy XIV update 6.3.
The patch notes, published on the official website (you can read them here in their entirety), show how we’ll be able to dive into the waters of Upper La Noscea and take a look at a familiar location from A Realm Reborn from a completely different perspective.
Further content includes more story both from the main scenario and sidequests, a new trial, a new 24-player raid, a new treasure hunt tier and dungeon, new furniture for your house (and a big housing update that will bring additional wards to the residentially-starved servers of the game), new mounts, minions, and gear, more goodies and features for the Island Sanctuary, new hairstyles, new emotes, and much more.
PvP fans will also be able to enjoy a new arena for the Crystalline Conflict mode and a new series with its own rewards.
Speaking of dungeons and similar group content, you’ll finally see the portraits of your companions when you enter, which is a neat addition.
Chocobo gear including the fat chocobo head will become dyeable, while some gender-locked outfits have become wearable by all.
We already know that the update, titled “Gods Revel, Lands Tremble,” is just around the corner and will release on January 10. It will also include an adorable corgi minion and a rather dashing Eastern-style outfit as a reward for the Tataru’s Grand Endeavor questline. We can pretty much say that there’s something for everyone.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PS5, PS4, and PC. The game is one of the most popular MMORPGs on the planet, having pulled a basically miraculous recovery with its relaunch as “A Realm Reborn” in 2013 after its original release in 2010.
After its fourth expansion “Endwalker,” it currently counts 27 million registered accounts worldwide.
