Today Mages announced that its third game dedicated to the popular anime and light novel series “My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU” is coming soon.
The game, titled “Yahari Game demo Ore no Seishun Rabukome wa Machigatteiru. Kan” (which translates as “My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong even in Games, as I Expected. Ending,” but we may call it “My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Climax Game” according to the way the anime is often referred to in the west), has actually been announced all the way back in September 2020, but then it went completely under the radar and we haven’t seen much of relevance until today.
Now we know that it’s releasing in Japan on April 27 for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. It’s a semi-original story based on the third season of the anime that branches into six different endings, and it’s the sequel of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Game released in 2013, and My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Too! Game released in 2016.
Similarly to the previous game, there’ll also be a limited edition including a blu-ray with a special OVA anime titled “So, Adolescence Never Ends, But Youth Goes On.” It’ll be priced at 14,080 yen, which roughly translates into $109. Pre-orders are already open, including the standard edition priced at 8,580 yen (approximately $66).
If you’re unfamiliar with the franchise, it debuted in 2011 as a light novel written by Wataru Watari and illustrated by Ponkan8 published by Shogakukan as part of its Gagaga Bunko line. It then spawned several manga, three anime series, and the two games mentioned above.
Unfortunately, neither game was ever localized, so hopes are slim for a western launch of the third game as well. Yet, I’ve been proven wrong on this in the past. Dear friends in localization, pretty please? You know who you are.
It’s certainly a great time for anime games and I absolutely love it. Below you can enjoy the trailer of the game, the trailer of the OVA, and the first screenshots of the game.
