Footage of a new, live-action commercial for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been captured from an Australian TV channel. It was seen on the ESPN network during an ad break for an A-League football game and shows Spider-Man catching some criminals via reports from a news network. The ad was previously thought to be a fake as it didn’t match any of Sony’s previous marketing blasts, but now more Australian viewers have come forward to confirm it’s genuine.

It’s important to note that the ad lists Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as a “Spring 2023” release. However, since Australia is part of the Southern Hemisphere, this translates to anywhere from September to December this year.
While this isn’t in-game footage, it’s the first marketing beat for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 that we’ve seen from Sony since the PS5 exclusive announcement in September 2021.
