NHRA: Speed for All is the new official video game, representing the National Hot Rod Association Camping World Drag Racing Series for PC and consoles.
We first reported that an officially licenced National Hot Rod Association video game was on the way in February, but now we have the first gameplay images, release date and a name.
NHRA: Speed for All will be published by GameMill Entertainment – also known for the Street Outlaws drag racing titles created by Team6 Games. The news comes from physical edition listings on both Best Buy and Target retailer websites, seemingly ahead of the organisation’s own announcement.
Here, a release date of 26th August 2022 is also highlighted, alongside the first on-track images.
The title is set to feature all five main classes of the real-world NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series: Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, Pro Mod and Super Modified.
38 drivers will be included according to the online listings. This includes Brittany Force, Antron Brown, Steve Torrence and John Force.
The latter is a 16-time NHRA Funny Car champion, and his car is in the image above – which, while stationary, looks highlight authentic.
Havoline-backed Top Fuel driver Alex Laughlin appears to be depicted, are his car at least (featured image).
Career and online leaderboards
The game will feature a single-player career mode that spans several seasons and includes car development, tuning and customisation.
Multiplayer is yet to be confirmed, however, but online leaderboards will be supported. One of the in-game images also shows an onboard camera angle in use.
NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series tours the United States of America, and its most recent round was at the New England Dragway. In the Top Fuel class, Mike Salinas took the laurels while in the Funny Car, Tony Stewart Racing driver Matt Hagan took home the team’s third Wally Trophy.
We’ll hopefully have more details and gameplay footage as the NHRA game nears its release. Let us know in the comments below if you’re looking forward to it.
