PlayStation looking to pay someone in Liverpool to play video games

Sony PlayStation are currently recruiting for a number of positions where you could spend time getting paid to play video games.

The gaming giant is looking to make that dream come true and are looking for people in Liverpool to test their games.

They are currently looking for a Latin American, Spanish localisation tester so, if you have a passion for language, this could be your lucky day.

As a localisation tester, your role will be to make sure the audio and text in a video game are correct and accurate for the countries they would be used in.

You will need to have native-level knowledge of English (grammar, spelling, and punctuation) and good attention to detail to find and correct errors.

Occasionally, you will be required to translate text for a video game or marketing.

Salary has yet to be determined but the hours are 37.5 hours per week, based in Liverpool, working 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

The successful applicant will proof-read and correct translations before they are implemented into the games, ensuring that quality, accuracy and consistency is maintained.

Sony are looking for someone who is a passionate games player with a working knowledge of MS Office package and is fluent in Latin American, Spanish and English.

If successful, you will be invited to complete a mandatory translation test which will be sent via e-mail and must be completed within 1 hour of receiving it.

Skills and experience you need for the job include:

  • Fluency in English and one or more languages

  • Passionate games player

  • Good knowledge of computer games across multiple platforms

  • Working knowledge of MS Office package

  • Basic understanding of the development cycle and constraint
