Ever since it was first announced, Tchia has looked amazing – but this trailer has actually upped our enthusiasm. In addition to being able to explore New Caledeonia on-foot – and with your trusted glider, of course – you’ll also be able to “soul-jump”, allowing you to take control of both animals and in-animate objects. Impressed? You will be when you watch the trailer.
The video shows the character transitioning from human-form to a bird in the air and then to a turtle underwater. It reminds us of the unreleased PS4 exclusive, WiLD! Later we see some combat, where the protagonist transforms into a gas lamp, and then a barrel. It all looks extremely smoothly executed, with the various disparate gameplay elements seguing nicely. We’re seriously impressed.
The game’s due out early next year on the PS5 and PS4, and will feature 30 animals and hundreds of objects for you to commandeer. This is all in addition to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild-inspired exploration, and even the ability to play your very own ukulele. This is definitely one to watch.
