Resident Evil Re:Verse Rated for Stadia, Development Still Ongoing

After nearly a year of silence, Resident Evil Re:Verse has been rated for Google Stadia by PEGI — it looks like this Resident Evil Village multiplayer spinoff is still very much in development.

Resident Evil Re:Verse was leaked early last year as a multiplayer tie-in for Resident Evil Village. It was originally intended to launch last summer, but it ended up getting delayed until sometime in 2022. A new PEGI rating for a Stadia release has popped up online, showing that the game is still very much in development and continuing to make progress.

Resident Evil Re:Verse Coming to Stadia

Resident Evil Re:Verse was rated for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One back on May 7, 2021. PEGI has since released a new rating for the game on Google Stadia, exactly one year after the original wave of ratings. As one might expect, the game has received a PEGI 18 rating due to the graphic violence between the combatants.

A large cast of characters from across the Resident Evil universe come together to duke it out in four to six-person “survival horror revenge matches.” Of course, it wouldn’t be a Resident Evil game without horrifying genetic monstrosities, so those will be here, too.

It’s not quite clear what halted the original launch of this game. When the delay was first announced, the devs said that they needed to work on delivering “a smooth gameplay experience.” Notably, a PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version of the game has not yet been announced, so there may have been technical difficulties with the last-gen consoles. There hasn’t been much in the way of announcements or updates until the latest PEGI rating for Stadia.

Whatever the reason for the delay, it looks like development of Resident Evil Re:Verse is still ongoing (and a new platform has been added, too). Hopefully, the developers will be able to keep a good pace and get this Resident Evil Village add-on out the door before the end of 2022.
