This week, Sniper Elite 5 officially launched across almost all planned platforms, including Xbox, PlayStation and PC. While the game was due to launch on Steam and the Epic Games Store at the same time, the game had to be temporarily pulled from Epic’s store.
In a statement sent to VGC, Sniper Elite 5 studio, Rebellion, said that the change was “due to circumstances beyond our control” and means that the game will not be available on the Epic Games Store at launch as planned. Pre-orders for the game on EGS have been cancelled and refunded.
Sniper Elite 5 is still planned to come to the Epic Games Store “in the future”, but a specific date is not known at this time. Epic Games has also not issued a statement on the situation to clarify why the game was pulled at the last minute.
While the game isn’t available on the Epic Games Store, it is out on Steam, as well as Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and the Windows Store. The game is also available through Xbox Game Pass.
KitGuru Says: Hopefully the full story here comes out eventually, as the EGS delay seems very mysterious.
