Steam Offers Dead Space 2 Free With Dead Space Remake Pre-Orders

Steam is offering an extra incentive for pre-ordering the Dead Space remake(Opens in a new window)—Dead Space 2 for free.

Motive Studio and EA are set to release the completely rebuilt version of the original game on Jan. 27 for $59.99. However, if you pre-purchase the base game, or the deluxe version of the game, Steam will throw in a copy of Dead Space 2, which hasn’t been remade (yet).

It’s a generous offer considering Dead Space 2 usually costs $19.99(Opens in a new window) when purchased separately. And anyone who has played Dead Space before will know the game leaves you wanting more, which is exactly what this bonus will offer in the form of a second game set in the universe.

Last month, EA released the first 18 minutes of the Dead Space remake played at 4K/60fps. It uses EA’s Frostbite 4.0 game engine, promises to offer a “deeper and more immersive experience,” and includes content removed from the original game due to technical constraints. So even if you’ve played the original game to death, there’s something new on offer in the remake beyond the impressive new visuals.
