Blizzard has plenty of new content coming to World of Warcraft this year, with the WoW TBC Sunwell release the next scheduled to go live.
As the name suggests, this new content is planned for World of Warcraft Classic: The Burning Crusade expansion, and might not have such a universal appeal.
But for those who are enjoying reliving the retro content, the WoW TBC Sunwell release time will be an important event to track.
Here’s what we know so far about what is being planned across WoW servers for May 2022.
When Is WoW TBC Fury Of The Sunwell Update Coming Out?
Blizzard has confirmed two important dates for this week concerning upcoming content for the retro game experience. The WoW TBC Sunwell Raid has a release time scheduled for 3pm PT on Thursday, May 12, or 11pm BST if you in the UK. However, while the returning raid will be one of the main draws, it should be noted that the next WoW Classic Update will release on May 10.
The Fury of the Sunwell update will need to be downloaded within World of Warcraft Classic on Tuesday, May 10. After downloading the new update, gamers will be able to travel to Quel’Danas and take the fight to the Kael’thas and the Burning Legion. The Shattered Sun Offensive will also unlock on Tuesday, with Blizzard confirming this week:
“Fresh from his defeat in Outland, Kael’thas Sunstrider returned to the blood elf city of Silvermoon. Rather than lead his people to glory as he had promised, the disgraced prince betrayed them. Kael’thas plots to use the legendary Sunwell, source of the blood elves’ magical power, to summon the demon lord Kil’jaeden into Azeroth. It is up to you to stop him.”
Meanwhile, Blizzard will be preparing the main event with the TBC Sunwell Raid on May 12, where il’jaeden, one of the leader of the demonic Burning Legion, has been summoned to Azeroth by the returned blood elf prince Kael’thas. WoW fans will need to gather their allies to stop Kael’thas mad scheme and restore the Sunwell to its former glory, with six Raid bosses – including Kalecgos, Brutallus, Felmyst, The Eredar Twins, M’uru, and Kil’jaeden – standing in their way.
Blizzard has also confirmed that there is no attunement required to enter the instance, unlike its original release, Sunwell Plateau will have all bosses available from the start.
