Zico signs with PRO Esports in Cambodia; Dale leaves Falcon after M4 run

It didn’t take long for John Michael “Zico” Dizon to find a new home as the Filipino coach inked a deal to guide Cambodian squad PRO Esports in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) KH Spring 2023.

The development was announced by the club on Friday night, just days after Zico alongside Jhonwin “Hesa” Vergara decided to leave another Cambodian squad Burn x Flash on the heels of their M4 World Championship run.

Zico steered Burn x Flash to the MPL Cambodia Autumn 2022 title, which eventually sealed their spot for the global tilt recently held in Jakarta, Indonesia. But their M4 stint proved short-lived as Burn x Flash bowed out of the tournament in the opening round of the playoff stage after a loss to The Valley.

Meanwhile, another Filipino tactician Dale “Dale” Vitug has decided to part ways with Falcon Esports of Myanmar after an impressive run in M4.

Falcon defeated M3 world titlist Blacklist International twice to finish the group stage on top and while it absorbed a 3-0 sweep loss to Onic Esports in the upper bracket playoffs, the Burmese team still had a great run in the lower bracket.

They pulled off a sweep over S11 Gaming before escaping Turkey’s Incendio Supremacy in the third round. But Dale and Falcon formally ended their run after getting the boot with a 3-2 defeat at the hands of RRQ Hoshi.

“We had a great time together but now it’s time to say goodbye. Time flies fast, isn’t it? You are such an amazing person Dale,” said the team in a Facebook post.

“We learned so many things from you. Every moment we spent together with you was fun. Among them, our M4 Journey with you will be in our core memory forever.”
